The European Resuscitation Council was founded in 1989 to provide the standard for resuscitation guidelines and training in Europe and beyond.

In 2017 the Young ERC was founded as a branch of the ERC to strengthen the voice of trainees and those new to the world of resuscitation. Since this time the Young ERC has grown and expanded its role within the ERC on a yearly basis.

Find Us On

An energetic group of young resuscitation enthusiasts ready to shake up the world of cardiac arrest

And you can join us!

ERC Congresses

Since 2019, members of the Young ERC have played an active role in the annual ERC congress, with roles on the panel for each of the major sessions and a dedicated session to exhibit the achievements of the Young ERC over the previous year. You can watch some of the clips from previous congresses here: https://www.youtube.com/c/ercEuroResusCouncil.

Webinars

Over the last year the Young ERC has started running regular webinars on resuscitation topics, which are free to attend and aim to encourage an interest in resuscitation in trainees and in a range of healthcare professionals. These webinars are run in conjunction with the European Resuscitation Council and feature some of the leading experts in resuscitation related fields from around the globe.

Diversity

The Young ERC are also passionate supporters of diversity and recognise that there has been a lack of diversity in ethnicity, gender and age in STEM subjects throughout history. With committee members with a variety of cultural backgrounds, ages and sexualities, we are aiming to ensure that the future of resuscitation science looks as diverse as the world around us!

Collaboration

We intend to achieve our aims by engaging with other groups aimed at those up & coming in their careers, and together creating captivating educational events, which will encourage those from all backgrounds into the world of resuscitation.

Restart A Heart Day

On World Restart A Heart Day (16th October) the Young ERC every year runs events aiming to increase BLS knowledge across the community.

Blog

In 2021 the Young ERC have set up a blog. This contains information on the day to day lives of resuscitationist and summaries of recent research and conferences!

#ResusciTuesdays

On our twitter account we have a long-running series of educational threads under the hashtag #ResusciTuesdays. Follow us on twitter to see more!

Research Community

Through our LinkedIn page we have launched a research community to encourage those new to research to seek support and find their way into exciting new projects and opportunities.
